Description
These lovely ladies are the non-Disney Princesses that tried very hard to gain the title anyway, and some very well would have if they had been produced by Disney. Some of them did such a good job that they actually fooled people into thinking that they really are from Disney movies. Obviously, some of them aren’t actual princesses, but they possess the qualities that make them worthy of the title, much like Mulan and Pocahontas.
Starting from the top left we have:
Snow White – Happily Ever After (a non-Disney sequel to the original).
Thumbelina – Thumbelina
Odette – The Swan Princess
Kayley – Quest For Camelot
Anastasia – Anastasia
Chel – The Road to El Dorado
Marina – Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
Crysta – Ferngully: The Last Rainforest
Tzipporah – The Prince of Egypt
Akima – Titan A.E.
Amalthea – The Last Unicorn
Camille – Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland
Sara – The 3 Wise Men
Melisande – The Flight of Dragons
Asenath – Joseph: King of Dreams
Anna – The King and I
Tuptim – The King and I
Daria – The Princess and the Pea
Greta – Little Longnose
Irene – The Princess and the Goblin
Marilyn – The Magic Voyage
Yum Yum – The Thief and the Cobbler
Glory – Gulliver’s Travels
Clara – The Nutcracker Prince
Zeila – The Singing Princess
Of these ladies, the ones that got the closest to actually becoming real Disney Princesses are Snow White and Sara. Happily Ever After may have been an unofficial non-Disney sequel, but Disney later bought the rights to it. As for The 3 Wise Men, it was originally a foreign film, but it was dubbed over in English and released by Buena Vista, which is a distribution company owned by Disney, yet it is not listed as a Disney film.
Then there’s Thumbelina, The Swan Princess, Quest For Camelot, Anastasia, The Road to El Dorado, Sinbad, and The Princess and the Pea, which actually fooled many people into believing they were Disney films, even me for a few them.
I’m sure there are others that some people are thinking about that aren’t up there, but I can’t get ALL of them. Also, I decided to stick with original 2-D animation rather than 3-D animation, otherwise I would have had Fiona up there, who also made a very good shot at the Disney Princess title.
So, does anyone have a favorite? For me, it's Amalthea. There's just something extra special about her, and not because she's a unicorn turned human. Maybe it's the tragedy wrapped up in her character.

Sad part is that a handful of them are technically Disney princesses now.
